How to Join
Step 1
Attend a meeting! Our meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month with the exception of December at 1830 (6:30 PM). Our squadron meets at the Kerrville Municipal/Louis Schreiner Airport (KERV). Kerrville Municipal Airport is located approximately five miles southeast of Kerrville along Texas State Highway 27.
We ask that you attend three separate meetings (not necessarily consecutive) for you to get more of a feel for what we do, as well as meet with our squadron staff (usually at your second meeting) so we can find out what you would like to do in CAP and how we can best work together.
Step 2
If, after three meetings you decide that Civil Air Patrol membership is for you, print and fill out CAP Form 12, and will be given an FD-258 fingerprint card to take to an agency that offers fingerprinting. (Note: scans not accepted for this procedure; the FD-258 that is given to you by the squadron must be used.) Check with your local police department or sheriff’s office for fingerprinting locations and schedules.
Step 3
Submit your application, fingerprint card and dues via one of the following means:
Checks (made payable to Civil Air Patrol) or money orders are accepted for dues payment.

When your application is received at National Headquarters, it is date stamped and processed in order by the date it arrived. You will receive an automated welcome email when the membership is processed.
Step 4
Once your application has been received and processed, you will receive an email with your CAP ID, and a link to log in, upload a photo for your member card, and begin your training.
